Product Description

Got a school fete or fundraiser coming up? Looking for a quality face paints but not sure where to begin?

We know it can be overwhelming to jump in at the deep end, after all there are a LOT of options!

That's why we created the "Face Paint Kit for Fundraisers".

Before we look at what's included in this kit (details are below), let me share with you a few quick tips to make your introduction to face painting a little easier.

1. Keep it simple...

As a beginner, you don't want to get confused with lots of different requests. This will slow you down. Whether you aim to raise funds, or provide face painting for free as a drawcard, you'll need to work quickly. No-one enjoys waiting in a line, especially not kids and their parents. So my tip is to only offer a small number of designs you can paint fast. You should aim to spend no longer than a few minutes face painting per person. Around 6-10 options is ideal for a beginner or volunteer. With experience, you can offer more, but if you're just starting out - trust me, less is more.

2. How much should you charge?

If you're fundraising in a pay per face situation (PPF), I suggest you set your price at $5 per design. This keeps it simple when calculating and giving change and if you paint quickly, you should be able to maximise your profits at the end of the day. While it's tempting to offer face paint for a "gold coin", at that price you aren't going earn a lot of money. Remember, the more profit you earn, the more funds you raise for your school or charity.

3. What should you paint?

Again, lots of options. Unlimited design ideas. Just search Pinterest if you want loads of inspiration (and overwhelm). But as a beginner, refer to tip number one: keep it simple. Limit the number of designs you offer, and keep the designs simple as well. You should also make the most of the one stroke cakes which really do make the job much faster. Some of the most popular face paint designs include Spiderman, flowers, rainbow, shark, princess tiara, Batman, Fairies, butterflies, spiders, and snakes. You can make a list using large words to let people know what you can paint (ie a face paint menu). If anyone asks for something different, tell them you're a beginner and you are only painting what's on the list today :)

4. Practice Good Hygiene

Face painting is fun, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take hygiene seriously. We recommend using clean water for each person, as well as using a sponge only once before it's washed and dried thoroughly (you can use a net washing bag to make this process easy). Also observe for any indications of illness or infection. Don't paint sick kids because you don't want to pass anything down the line.
